Overview
Algodon Wine Estates is situated in the hills of the Sierra Pintada Mountains at the base of the Andes, in San Rafael, Mendoza. Our stunning Argentine vineyard and golf estate encompasses over 2,050 acres (830 hectares) of picturesque terrain that harmoniously intermingles with a championship golf course, lush vineyards, fruit and olive orchards, water reserves and channels, and spectacular tree-lined roads. The enormous estate also features a boutique world-class winery and tasting room, a traditional Mendocinian lodge, clubhouse, and an award-winning restaurant. Some of the property's original structures, whose elegant rustic style adds a certain element of charm and comfort to the estate's overall character, date as far back as 1921. The vineyard's oldest vines date back to the 1940s and are comprised of seven varieties of grapes including Malbec; Argentina's signature varietal. Algodon Wine Estates' surrounding resort and lodge frame this vineyard and golf estate, creating an alluring sanctuary of relaxation and tranquility.
Algodon Wine Estates incorporates the innovative concept of a vineyard and golf estate living community by offering over 230 homesites, ranging anywhere between 1-15 acres (0.4-6 hectares) each, for private sale and development. As a prospective owner, you may choose your homesite in the polo, equestrian, and prairie vicinity; or you may prefer to be surrounded by golf greens and foliate vineyards; you may opt for an exclusive lot in the desert vista among the gorgeous hills of the Sierra Pintadas; or one of the villa condominiums on the central knoll, you may even choose to enjoy the cultivation of your own personal vineyard, supplying you with an exclusive family label of your own. Each of these locations operates under the same dynamic of unparalleled views, sensational natural surroundings, and the pleasurable endowment of an immaculately cultivated vineyard and golf estate.
Algodon Wine Estates has engaged the internationally acclaimed architectural firm of Bormida & Yanzon, who are perhaps best known for their dramatic and innovative architectural design of wineries all over South America. Bormida & Yanzon have designed the master plan for the expansion of several aspects of Algodon Wine Estates including four distinctly different villages within the estate. The planned expansion will also enhance our current golf facilities from 9 to 18 holes, with a new accompanying main clubhouse and restaurant. The master plan includes a state-of-the-art winery and wine cellar (in addition to our existing boutique winery and cellar, where our vineyard estate owners may bottle and label their own exclusive family labels), as well as the addition of an olive oil bottling center for our more than half-century year-old olive orchard. The planned expansion will also feature 10 championship tennis courts (including a central mini-stadium and clubhouse) with the goal of attracting and hosting some of Argentina's most significant international tournaments. In addition, the master plan features a polo and sports field, equestrian center, and numerous riding trails and pastures. Algodon Wine Estates also intends to develop a premium luxury hotel featuring ultramodern amenities and services, a luxury fitness, spa & wellness center, traditional Mendocinian lodges, and an additional large-scale pool. Lastly, a traditional Mendocinian "town" is intended for the outskirts of the estate. This miniature village would feature essential markets and shops, a post office, and a central square, and would serve as a cultural hub for our estate residents, as well as for our local neighbors.
Homesite owners will have the option of choosing from several architectural designs when customizing their homes. An Algodon Wine Estates artisan and design team will be happy to assist homesite owners when determining which design works best for them in relation to location, landscape features, and personal taste.
