Algodon Wine Estates is the 2010 International Winner in the Accommodations category, from Great Wine Capitals’ “Best Of Wine Tourism” Awards.
Located in the foothills of the Sierra Pintada Mountains at the base of the Andes, our San Rafael, Mendoza based boutique winery and golf estate encompasses over 2,050 acres (830 ha) of picturesque terrain that harmoniously intermingles with working vineyards, fruit, olive, and nut orchards, natural water reserves, and spectacular tree-lined roads. This remarkable property includes a world-class boutique winery and tasting room, as well as a championship golf course and driving range, a forthcoming championship tennis center and clubhouse, two forthcoming championship polo fields and clubhouse, two boutique hospitality lodges, and an award-winning restaurant specializing in authentic Argentine gourmet cuisine.
Some of the property's original structures, whose elegant rustic style adds a certain element of charm and comfort to the estate's overall character, date as far back as 1921. Our oldest vines were planted in 1946 and are comprised of seven varieties of grapes including Malbec, Argentina's signature varietal. Algodon Wine Estates is located on Mendoza's celebrated "Ruta del Vino" (Wine Trail), and the surrounding resort and golf course frame our vineyard estate, creating an alluring sanctuary of relaxation and tranquility.
Algodon Wine Estates incorporates the innovative concept of a vineyard and golf estate living community by offering 300 homesites, ranging between 1-15 acres (0.4-6 ha) each, as well as 50 condominium-style casita townhomes and approximately 12 tennis villas for private sale and development. As a prospective owner, you may choose a homesite or casita townhome amidst the vineyards, grassy knolls, and golf green of our Wine & Golf Village, or perhaps a spacious tennis villa surrounded by our more than half-century year-old olive orchard and adjacent to the tennis center; you may prefer an estate homesite surrounded by the vineyards, fruit orchards, polo fields and pastures within the Vineyard & Polo Village; you may opt for an exclusive lot in the Desert Village amidst the rolling foothills and vistas of the Sierra Pintada Mountains, and be privileged to some of the estate's most stunning views. You may decide that a garden estate homesite within the Sierra Pintada Village works best for you. Or you may choose to cultivate your own personal vineyard on the estate's most expansive homesites within the North or South Vineyard & Orchard Villages, and enjoy the privileges of your own exclusive family label.
